U gruppu era furmatu à u principiu solamente da Vince Clarke, Andrew Fletcher è da Martin Lee Gore; in u 1980 si aghjunghje u cantadore David Dave Gahan.

In u 1981 Vince Clarke lascia u gruppu pè formà i Yazoo, incù a cantatrice inglese Alison Moyet è poc'anni dopu forma dinù i Erasure incù Andy Bell.

U novu cumposidore divene Martin Gore e si aghjunghje un novu tasterista, Alan Wilder.

In u 1995 Alan Wilder lascia u gruppu chì firma furmata solamente da Martin Lee Gore, da Dave Gahan, è da Andrew Fletcher.
